2001 Oris Miles Davis - Limited Edition 750 pieces - Ref. 583 7525 40 84

Ten years after the death of Miles Davis, one of the most influential figures in the history of jazz - Oris introduced Miles Davis ref. 7525 in a bold rectangular stainless steel case, produced as a run of 750 individually numbered pieces, each one carrying Davis's signature and silhouette on the case back. There was actually a rose gold version as well, limited to only 75 pieces.

The design reads cool rather than loud, which feels right for the man who made Birth of the Cool. One of my favorite things that Oris does on rectangular designs is the strongly curved lugs and the caseback to sit flush against the wrist, which this absolutely has. It's alternating polished and satin finishes with a curved sapphire crystal. Has the funkiest indices that are all lumed. Lovely date window at 4. It's powered by the Automatic Oris calibre 583 that holds time accurately. Happy to answer any questions and provide more pictures!
