1988 Jaeger-LeCoultre Albatros 145.302.5 - Triple Calendar Moonphase - Full Set

$4,500.00

Originally purchased on July 25th, 1988 from Wempe in Stuttgart, Germany - here is a stunning and highly elusive Jaeger-LeCoultre Albatros with the triple calendar moonphase complication. The bezel plays a little trick on the eye, appearing round at first glance, but yet has a softly hexagonal form as you shift your perspective. The dial is a warm, creamy white color, carrying a full suite of complications: pointer date, day, month, and moonphase. What's truly mind bending is that despite housing the automatic 888 movement with all of the complications, the case measures just at 8.7mm thin. How JLC engineers came up with this design, such a complex package is beyond comprehension but then again, that's exactly the kind of the sorcery we've come to expect from them. The bezel, crown and the alternating links are solid 18K gold.

While there are many things to love about this piece, i can't keep my eyes off the integrated bracelet. Each link flows gracefully into the next. The brushed silver and the warm glow of the gold links catch the daylight beautifully. Currently the bracelet size is 18.5CM/7.2" + 1 additional link that adds .5CM or .20 of an inch. Max bracelet size with the additional link is 19CM/7.4".

Powered by the automatic 888 JLC caliber, holds time accurately and all of the functions work as they should. Will come with the box, service papers, original receipt and the original pusher! Happy to answer any questions and provide more pictures.
