1972 Omega Genève "Stingray" 166.121 - Automatic 1481 Cal.
This 1972 Omega Genève "Stingray " (Ref. 166.121) emerged during an era when watchmakers dared to challenge the tyranny of the old school round case shapes. (Which is why the 70s are the best!!). This particular timepiece abandons conventional geometry entirely, opting instead for an elliptical silhouette that curves organically around the wearer's wrist—a design inspired by the fluid forms of marine life and serpentine creatures hence why this is nicknamed the "Stingray" or the "Cobra". The dial has a interplay of lots of textures and tones. The suburst inner dial and the black chapter ring that has recessed indices with black highlights. Adds lots of the depths to the dial. Powered by the 1481 Automatic Omega Caliber, holds time as it should. Always happy to answer any questions and provide more pictures!
