1970s Universal Geneve Ultra Slim - Seal Script Indices - Manual Winding 1-42 Cal.
Universal Genève holds a special place at Pieces of Time, with a catalog range that runs from the Tri-Compax to the Polerouter. Today, we're bringing you a 1970s Universal Genève Ultra Slim featuring a white dial with black Seal Script indices - one of the oldest forms of Chinese writing, dating back more than two thousand years. The style takes its name from its long association with carved seals, or "chops," historically used to stamp official documents across East Asia. The dial is finished with a set of black leaf hands that complement the script beautifully and keeps the charm.
It's called the Ultra Slim for good reason: the case measures just 7mm thick, an impressive feat for the 1970s - especially considering it houses the mechanical hand-wound Caliber 1-42. The watch is in great condition overall and still has its original sticker on the caseback. It comes paired on a leather band with the original buckle. The original strap is included as well, though it is no longer in wearable condition. The Caliber 1-42 is keeping good time. Happy to answer any questions and provide more pictures!
